How to be a Literacy Lead
About this event
This is a day-long course for leaders of literacy which will cover a wide range of areas including:
– key research behind the core areas of literacy
– how to improve staff literacy and plan meaningful CPD
– how to build a reading culture across school
– how to improve writing across the curriculum
– how to support high quality talk across school
– how to improve spelling, punctuation and grammar across a school, and write a sensible literacy marking policy
– how to quality assure literacy in the classroom and what to do when there are challenges
– how to handle data around literacy, plan meaningful interventions and judge impact
The day will run at the following times:
9:30-11:00 Session 1
11:00-11:20 BREAK
11:20-12:30 Session 2
12:30-13:30 LUNCH
13:30-14:30 Session 3
14:30-14:45 BREAK
14:45-15:30 Session 4
Live participants will experience a seminar-style day the opportunities to ask questions and get bespoke advice.
All ticket holders will get access to resources and presentation materials.
The session will be held on Zoom. Attendees will receive an email at least 24 hours before the event containing login information.
