The Oracy Imperative: how talk improves learning and life chances

How developing young people’s oracy skills produces more equal educational outcomes

Whether you’re new to oracy or very experienced, if you’re interested in how oracy addresses educational disadvantage, this conference is for you. Join us, teachers, policymakers and other education experts in discussing how a high-quality oracy education can transform young people’s learning and life chances.

Our conference will explore the importance of oracy in efforts to tackle educational disadvantage. Through a range of panel discussions, breakout sessions and keynote speeches, our excellent speakers will explore how teaching oracy skills explicitly and purposefully benefits young people’s development: their attainment, wellbeing, confidence, ability to form relationships and future prospects. If opportunities to develop oracy skills are only afforded to an advantaged few, efforts to improve social mobility will not succeed.

£95 per person
£66.50 for staff in Voice 21 Oracy Schools

The conference will take place between 9:30am and 3:30pm on 24 March 2022 at Allen & Overy, One Bishops Square, London E1 6AD. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

The event is finished.
